As recommended by WHO, babies should be fed exclusively on breastmilk for the first 6 months. So, we've waited almost 6 months before giving Chey solids.
Btw, ah-hem...actually we've mixed in some brown rice powder in her milk when she was about 5 months...does it count?
Her "official" first taste of solids was on 22-May...and I'm going to share some recipe here...
The very first solids:
Cereal + Infant formula + Vege/brown rice soup
1. Healthy Times Mixed Grain Cereal for baby
2. Half scoop of infant formula
3. Vege soup (make with chinese spinach + carrots + brown rice)
Other solids that she'd tried so far:
Apple + Pear (steamed) puree
Cereal + Smashed potato + Green peas
Cereal + Infant Formula + Smashed Sweet potato
Last Tuesday, she's been "upgraded" from cereal to porridge. So I've prepared porridge for her this weekend. I call it the "all-in-one" super delicious porridge, double-boiled for 2 hours.
"All-In-One" Super Delicious Porridge
White rice cook in ikan bilis soup with the following items added:
Cherry tomato
Fish (smashed)
Pork (not to be eaten)
Finely sliced green vege (Chinese spinach)
Finely sliced carrot
Organic tofu
Dry scallops
Wolfberries
I can see that Chey can't have enough of the porridge. It's worth the efforts!
