Welcome Back

Sorry mummy hasn't been feeling well recently...that explains the 1 month+ disappearance from this blog...
Ok..let's get started...

(21-Aug) Dora the Explorer
Before Chey girl was born, daddy bought an infant car seat which we thought would be useful to travel with for long journey. Turn up the total time she actually seated in the infant car seat was less than an hour...hmm...good deal for a $300 car seat. Now she had already outgrown the *infant* car seat, it's time to upgrade her to child car seat. So we went all the way to the east, to the place where we got the infant car seat, hoping to *exchange* it to a child car seat (haha..just kidding). After not much of the browsing (or rather not many to choose from), we just grabbed one that looks more appealing and affordable to us. Since we're already in the east, daddy was thinking to take a look at the party supplies in Marine Parade for Chey's first year party (yeah, we plan things way ahead of time, as usual, ahem). That's where Dora the Explorer balloon came from. Girl was so excited about her new BFF (for about a week)...hmm...when she started to lose interest in her floating friend, it was daddy's idea to cut off the "star" that weighed down the balloon and replaced it with a lighter toy - the poor finger puppet rabbit was the casualty. Now, as the balloon was light enough to travel the world with the rabbit, it got our Chey girl full attention once again. Guess she must be thrilled to see a flying balloon carrying a rabbit. So, it was her BFF once again for another week...until...both rabbit and balloon were too "old" to fly and were abandoned at the service balcony. Sad case...

Me and my new BFF - Dora the Explorer

 Enjoy the company of Dora

The abandoned and deflated balloon, Helium, anyone?

(22-Aug) The Bollywood Veggies
This was the second time we visited Bollywood Veggies, which located somewhere in the Kranji farm. The first time when we were there, Chey girl was still inside my tummy, so technically, it was her first time visiting the farm.

On the way to Bollywood Veggies

Nice food for daddy and mummy

Nice *finger* food for Chey girl

Visiting Kedai Kampong after lunch

(05-Sep) Colbar @ Wessex estate
This is the place daddy loves. Unlike other places in Singapore, this place is tranquil, relax and got character. We had lunch at this place called Colbar, it's actaully more like an old coffee shop that you can find everywhere in Muar.

Happy, happy

Can I be more excited?

It may not be an exciting journey after all, wake me up when September ends...

(11-Sep) Farewell lunch for SC, Julia and Kristen
They're moving to Jakarta, not sure for how long, so we had this farewell lunch for them with Alicia and Andy at this nice Penang buffet place.

Uncle Andy has the honor to be the first one carrying me, hehe...

Kristen and her toys

Hey baby! That's MY toy!

The beauties

And the beasts...

Bye, wish you enjoy your time in Jakarta...hope we've chance to visit you there =)

Happy Birthday Singapore

Today is Singapore's National Day, that means we all have a off day lazying at home with Chey girl. While daddy and girl are taking "mid-morning" nap, mummy takes this free time to update the blog.

Baby Baptism (01-Aug)
Chey girl is baptised, as the "contract" I've signed before getting married, all of our kids must be raised in Catholic faith...hmm...as promised.

White dress - checked
White socks - checked
White headband - checked
Pacifier - checked
Yeah...we're all ready to go for baptism

Picnic @ Botanic Gardens (08-Aug)
With this long weekend and nothing much to do, daddy suggested we go for picnic at Botanic Gardens. This is the first time Chey girl go to "nature" and we planed to leave early so to enjoy the place before it gets dark.
So we left at 430pm with mummy's home-cook food, and it's just the right time when we reached there.

"Parked" our stuff at a nice spot

Fried rice and minced pork spinach

 Where's my food?

The Hot Week

Cheyenne girl was sick 2 weeks ago. On the 14-Jul afternoon, the babysitter called and told me Chey girl was having fever. I brought her back home that afternoon, and noticed that she was quite warm and tired. Her temperature was measured 37.4C, which according to reference book, it's still quite mild. So we decided to monitor her for a while before bringing her to see doctor. Later that night, her temperature was fluctuating and the next morning, it went down to about 37C. So we thought it's due to teething (as what the babysitter claimed) and we went to work as usual. However, it turned out that her temperature was up and down for the whole day. Worried, we brought her to see doctor that night and the diagnosis - Roseola, or in layman term, fake meningitis. According to the doctor, the fever will come and go and eventually subside in a few days with rashes appear first on the face and then the body. True enough, it happened step by step as what the doctor had "predicted". Poor Cheyenne with rashes over her face and body after a few days of fever.

Chey girl's having fever but still can play with "other baby" in the mirror.

We also noticed that she had lost her appetite (temporary). She was doing "A boo~~~" to reject the food.

Thank God everything is back to normal now - her appetite is back, and the rash is gone!

New Tricks

28-Jun-10 - Sitter
This was the day we noticed that Chey can sit quite steadily with minimum support. So I guess she had moved from "Supported Sitter" to "Sitter". And when will she move to the next stage - Crawler?
These are the "Sitter" milestones that I copy online:
  • Sits independently - Checked
  • Picks up and holds small objects in hands - Checked
  • Reaches for food or spoon when hungry - Checked
  • Uses upper lip to help clear food off of spoon - Checked
According to the checklist, Chey girl is qualified to be a "Sitter". Yeah!

Evidence of "sits independently"

 Oops! Pls don't disqualify me!

The (Backwards) Crawler?
It was around the same time that we noticed girl was more agile, she is able to use her limbs to move *backwards*. Haha. This is kind of funny to see her moving further and further away which her intention was to come forward. This happened when she was in the walker too! She was more proficient in moving sideways and backwards than moving forwards. (But now she can move forward without any problem already). Heard that some babies started with moving backwards. That's cute!

Me, myself and Cheyenne girl

Nice to meet you!

The Ikea Trip - 03-Jul-10
Ever since she can move around more readily, our territory of bed shrank quite significantly. She occupied almost 1/2 area of bed and left the other half for us. She wakes up in 180degree from where she begins. One morning, Ben even found her on the floor besides the bed. That's why bed guard is deemed necessary and a trip to Ikea is inevitable!

Me and my shopping bag

Daddy! Pls park my car properly. Must be inside the parking box!

Yawn~~ Shopping can be really tiring...

Btw, we left with a big shopping bag but without any bed guards. Only realized that when we reached home from Ikea. Great! Guess it's meant to go back for another shopping trip any time soon. =)
